Charlie Savoy was once at the top of her career in acting. Now, she's hit rock bottom. After she ends up in an accident which is all her fault, she is sentenced to community service at the very last place she wants to do it, the place where her career started, The Chamberlin. The Chamberlin holds a summer acting program and it is at this very program where she met and fell in love with Nick Blunt. Now, he's in charge and Charlie for sure is not ready to spend the summer with him, but she has no choice. Once there will she change her mind, or just stay for probation and then be gone?

I, myself have never been a thespian or really have had no desire to act. For Charlie Savoy, she grew up in that world and it has always been a part of who she was. Her mother was an actor and she easily took to the stage. When she met Nick Blunt, they had an instant connection with their art and their hearts. But Charlie wanted more and she went for it, when Nick kept trying to improve on his one great hit.

This summer is going to be hard on the both of them. Charlie because she doesn't want to be there and Nick because he still has feelings for Charlie.

Overall, I enjoyed this book, but there were times where it got slow. I felt a strong connection to the author as she went to the same high school as my husband and we live in the same area. I will read other books this author writes.

Audio Book Review: Internment by Samira Ahmed

Layla Amin is an American who is also Muslim. She and other Muslims in her community have been taken from their homes and placed a Mobius, an internment camp for Muslims. The government sees them as a threat to the country and so they must be interred. But Layla will not stand for this. This is America and she and the others are American citizens, and they shouldn't be treated this way. Using her strength, she vows that she will fight until they have all been released and allowed to return to their homes.

I really enjoyed this book. It makes you sit back and think about the past as well as the future of our country especially the way our immigration laws are at this time. I'm not big into politics, but this book definitely struck a cord with me.

Can you imagine being taken from your home and everything you know just because of your religion? It has happened in our past and now Samira Ahmed, shows us what it could be like in our future. This book will make you think about the future of America whether you want to or not. Knowing how history has treated those that are different, how this country was established, this is a situation that I can actually see happening in this country, which is very sad. With families being detained at our borders who knows what could happen.

This is a YA novel, but I think it is important for everyone to read.

Fifteen years ago, Emma Davis attended Camp Nightingale for the first time. She shared a cabin with three older girls, Vivian, Allison and Natalie and one night they snuck out of the cabin and never came back. This is something that has haunted Emma all this time. So much so that she has included these girls in all of her paintings since that time, hidden in the woods they disappeared into. Now, Emma has been invited back to camp which is reopening after fifteen years. She is determined to find out what happened to the girls so that she can move on with life. But will she be able to do that? Will the people who are responsible for the girls disappearance and maybe death, try to stop her?

I loved this book! I read The Final Girls earlier this year and loved that one as well. I couldn't wait to read this one. I will say at the beginning I felt the story started off a little slowly, taking us back and forth from present day to Camp Nightingale fifteen years ago. We learn more about Emma's youth and about the girls who disappeared, especially Vivian who Emma seemed most obsessed with.

Riley Sager will is another author I am now adding to my list of author's whose books I will read regardless of the description. I hope everything he writes turns out to be as big a hit as the previous two.
