Review: Dating Princeton Charming by Frankie Love & C.M. Seabrook

Dating Princeton Charming by Frankie Love & C.M. Seabrook
My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars
Published: Jan. 31, 2019

Dating Princeton Charming continues with the story of Charlie and Spencer. It is now Christmas break and Charlie has gone home to be with her family. Her mom isn't doing too well and even though she has lost her job, she knows she is where she needs to be. When Spencer shows up at her door, she is not only shocked, but also very excited to see him. Things are great with the just the two of them together, but will they be able to maintain this happiness once they are back on campus?

Thank you to Frankie Love and C.M. Seabrook for the opportunity to read and review this book.

For me, I didn't enjoy this book as much as I did the first one, Kissing Princeton Charming. I still can't wait to see where this series is going to go.

When the scholarship girl gets with the man on campus who has a building named after his family, there seems to be nothing but chaos. From threatening notes, to bricks being thrown, and fights between just about everyone, life shouldn't be this hectic. It would be so much easier on everyone if Charlie and Spencer weren't together, but since they've had a taste of each other, they can't let the other go. Will their relationship be able to last with such a difference between the two, or will they have to let each other go?

Review: Curious Minds by Janet Evanovich & Phoef Sutton

Curious Minds by Janet Evanovich
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Published: 2016
Book 1 in the Knight & Moon Series

Riley Moon works for Blane-Grunwald, a financial company who only handles the most wealthy's accounts. Emerson Knight is one of those clients, and he is an eccentric as they come. When Riley is told to go to his house to discuss his accounts with him, she doesn't know what she is in for. Greeted with all kinds of creatures roaming the property, Emerson isn't thrilled to see Riley instead of Gunter his usual analyst. When Riley explains that Gunter is missing and she is here to take his place, Emerson enlists Riley's help to find Gunter and find out what is really going on at Blane-Grunwald.

Thank you to NetGalley and Headline for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This book was really interesting, and like true Janet Evanovich fashion, it wasn't short on humor either.

Emerson and Riley discover that the gold being held by Blane-Grunwald is fake. When they make this discovery, they embark on a mission to find out where the gold is and how to get it back. Faced with obstacles all along the way and the Grunwald family with their high positions in the United States Government trying to stop the mission, Emerson and Riley won't stop until they get to the bottom of the issue. They both surprise each other with their determination and strength and together, nothing can bring them down.

I look forward to the next book in the series Dangerous Minds

Review: A Gathering of Secrets by Linda Castillo

A Gathering of Secrets by Linda Castillo
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Published: 2018

Kate Burkholder is the chief of police for the small town of Painter's Mill in Ohio. When a young Amish man is found burned to death in his family's barn, Kate is determined to find out who is responsible. Being ex-Amish herself, Kate has a strong connection to the people. But trying out to find out who would have wanted Daniel Gingerich dead is turning into quite a list. You see, Daniel wasn't the good Amish boy every portrayed him to be. He had a dirty secret and once Chief Burkholder is able to uncover his secrets, she may be able to find his killer.

Thank you to Minotaur Books for the opportunity to read and review this book.

When I first heard about this book, I was quite intrigued by the story line. I didn't know that this was a part of a series, so that was a little disappointing, but I don't feel like I missed out on too much. I definitely want to go back and read the rest of the series.

Daniel Gingerich is in the period of an Amish person's life called Rumspringa. This is a time once Amish reach adulthood that they take the time to "find themselves". Daniel had a serious girlfriend and had plans to marry her. But he was a young man and attractive. He could have almost any girl he wanted. So why was he killed and who did it? When Kate finds out Daniel's secret, the suspect pool grows bigger and bigger the more she digs into this young man's life. The Amish community is so tight knit that no one wants to tell anyone's secrets.

This book was very hard to put down, and there were surprises I didn't see coming. I look forward to reading more books by Linda Castillo.

Audio Book Review: Surprise Me by Sophie Kinsella

Surprise Me by Sophie Kinsella
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Published: 2018

Sylvie and Dan have their annual check ups and discover that they have the probability of being married for the next 68 years. It gives them the idea to surprise each other in little ways to help keep their marriage alive. But will this really work to keep the marriage healthy? When the surprises start to backfire, Sylvie and Dan have to take a closer look at their lives together and try to reevaluate their choices.

Sophie Kinsella is one of those authors whose books I have on my TBR, but I haven't read very many of them. Her books are light-hearted and fun with a bit of an edge. This book had me laughing and crying. 68 years is an awfully long time to be with one person. I can only hope to have that with my husband. But what can you do to keep the romance alive and not get bored. Sylvie and Dan believe they have the right idea, but will everything blow up in their faces?

At first the surprises are small, a new piece of clothing, a changing of the decor in the kitchen. But then they get bigger. But when Dan starts to seem distant, Sylvie believes that everything she is trying to keep their marriage alive, is actually backfiring and she may lose Dan forever. When she finds out the truth, she will be crushed as well as fall more in love with her husband.

At first, I wasn't sure if I was going to like this book. It took me a while to get into it, but after a while, I found myself wanting to know what was going to happen.

If you're a Sophie Kinsella fan, I highly suggest you read this book. If you're married, it's a great book to read.
