Benjamin Casper has been asked by a friend of his to put some surveillance cameras up in her apartment. Shortly after he leaves her building a body is thrown from her balcony. Everyone says it's his friend, Diana and that she committed suicide, but Ben is not convinced. Trying to figure out what is really going on with Diana and what she was up to is not going to be easy. Will Ben be able to find the answers before he loses his own life? Set in the heart of our Nation's Capital, Ben fights for his life to find out the truth about Diana.

This book was just okay for me. It held my attention, but I didn't find myself dying to read it during my down time. At some parts of the book, it felt like a dog chasing its tail.

Ben believes that Diana is his friend. When he attends her funeral back in her home of Wisconsin, he's not so sure. No one knows who he is and they sure as hell don't know who Diana is, at least who she really is, but does Ben. On the quest to find out if his friend is really dead, he will lose more friends along the way. Too many people end up dead and the reason is all really kind of crazy.

This was not one of my favorite James Patterson books.  I know this review is short, but there wasn't must to go on without giving away the book.  If you like James Patterson then you should read this book, if not, then I would say find another.  So many books, so little time.

Thank you to the author for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I enjoyed this book so much, I also purchased a copy from Amazon.

Mac Ambrose just wants to start living a normal life, but getting away from the CIA is not an easy task. Asked by one of her closest friends to investigate a leaked sex tape of a U.S. Senator, Mac is reluctant to take the case. When she finds something not quite fitting the description of what she was looking for, she regrets her decision to take this case on. The Senator isn't telling the whole truth about this tape and now that Mac is involved, she has to find out why.

Mac Ambrose seems like the kind of woman we all could be friends with. She cares about those who are close to her and those she works with But, don't cross her because you don't want to be on her bad side. The thing I liked most about this boo is how quickly it drew me in It was a hard bookk to put down and a book I would recommend firsts to all of my female friends. Mac Ambrose will make you fell empowered and in fact, she does make another female in the book feel empowered.

There were a few twists and turns in the book that made you wonder what was going to happen next. I would have given the book five stars, but there were a few times when there were new characters introduced that I had to go back to figure out who they were and how they fit into the story. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the book and I look forward to see what will happen to Mac next.

Lindsay Boxer is trying to solve the case of four murders at the Four Seasons. There are just a few things that are getting in her way. First, the only witness is gone and unidentifiable, next a plane crash is causing her case to be put on the back burner and third, and most disturbing is the fact that her husband seems to be somehow involved with all of the above.

Another great Women's Murder Club novel. This one had me on the edge of my seat from the very start. Many twists and I was unsure where it was going to take me. Having been with these characters for so many years, they become like friends that you don't want to see anything happen to I really felt an emotional connection to Lindsay in this book with the trust issues she had going on with her husband. I believe it's something we as women have questions about at least in the back of our mind. We want to trust our spouse's unconditionally, but sometimes that trust can be hard.

I can't wait to see what book 16 has in store for Lindsay.

A Spy Came Home by H.N. Wake

Mac Ambrose is a CIA officer.  She has recently revealed this information to her closest friends after being in the agency for 20 years.  She shares this information in an attempt to bring down a corrupt organization and its effect on the gun laws in America.  Using the skills she has learning in the Agency, and the connections of her friends, she sets out on a mission to bring down those involved.  She only has a few short weeks to accomplish her goal.

At first I wasn't sure if I was going to make it through this book.  The first few chapters involve a lot of legalese that did not draw me into the story.  Talking about the different gun laws and how and when they went into effect.  Finally, after that small rut, it was smooth sailing and I had to keep going.  So if you find yourself in the same scenario, I encourage you to keep going.  It definitely gets better from there.

I totally enjoyed this book. It made the wheels in my head churn with the possibility of the corruption in our government.  This book explores what goes on behind closed door of lobbyists and other who are in a position to change the laws in this country.

This book takes you on a journey through the world as we learn more about Mac as a CIA officer and her personal life.  We travel through time as well which helps to learn why she is so determined to pull off this mission no matter the consequences.   The last few pages will leave you on the edge of your seat to find out what is going to happen.  I can't wait to see what is next for Mac Ambrose.

A French priest, a Texas sheriff, and a female CIA agent walk into a bar looking for Evil.  Sounds like the start of a corny joke, but it's not.  Evil Runs by Vince Milam is a religious thriller that takes these three on a trip around the world to destroy the evil that has disrupted their lives.

Still grieving the loss of his wife, Sheriff Cole Garza is now dealing with multiple homicides at a nursing home in his small Texas town.  Leaving the scene, he sees a most peculiar man who appears to be running away from another man with a long gray ponytail who is just as peculiar.  Looking into the eyes of the murder suspect, Cole sees something familiar, something he saw in the eyes of his wife's murderer.  When Father Francois Domaine appears in Texas with orders from the Vatican, things begin to really get strange.  They have a suspect in custody and are currently looking for his accomplice, Adal Moloch.  He was the peculiar man seen leaving the crime scene, and the hunt is on.  With the help of Nadine May, a CIA operative with unbelievable tracking and computer skills, they are able to follow Moloch wherever he goes.  Will they find him and bring him to justice before more people are hurt?

This is a book for those who believe in a higher power, or for those that don't, you just might after reading this book.  Adal Moloch is not your typical suspect. He is a demon sent to have his evil bidding done by anyone who is willing to follow him.  Destroying him is going to take more than a bullet to the head, but also a faith that God is stronger than him with that faith you can destroy anything.  We always wonder if faith is enough.  Can our faith in God destroy the evil that is around us?  Can we rise above the evil and do what is right?  At first, I was a little skeptical about this book thinking it was going to get a bit paranormal, but it didn't which made me thoroughly enjoy it.  This is the first book i a series and I can't wait to read what is next.

Review--The Demeter Code by Russell Brooks

Ridley Fox and Dr. Nita Parris are two of the CIAs best operatives.  They travel the world eliminating the bad guys.  When they are given an assignment that doesn't turn out as planned, their whole world is turned inside out and upside down.  Then the mission gets changed and Fox and Parris are sent in different directions.  This book has enough twists and turns to give you whiplash.

After reading the description of this book, I was very excited to read it.  I love a good thriller and this one did not disappoint.  The Demeter Code captured me from page one.  The first scene is set in Washington DC and when books are set close to home, I always am intrigued.  The book had a really great start and lots of action to keep my attention.  A little over half way through it started to slow down a bit for me.  It got more technical and I found myself reading the words without actually absorbing what it was I was reading.  That happened a couple of times which made me drop my rating from 4 to 3.5 stars.  This is the third book in the series, the first two being Pandora's Succession and Unsavory Delicacies.  I will be going back to read these books as well as his standalone Chill Run and I look forward to whatever he has coming in the future.
