Francis Gleeson and Brian Stanhope completed the police academy together. They began their rookie years as partners in the New York City Police Department, and then they moved in next door to each other. Francis' youngest daughter, Kate, and Brian's son Peter, instantly became the best of friends. The adults don't always get along, but the kids are inseparable. One day, a dramatic event separates Kate and Peter. They are brought back together as adults, but can they get over the past to have a future? Will their past forever destroy their relationship with one another as well as with others?

This book started off really good, but started to slow down toward the middle. This is a very dramatic story that will have you questioning how well you know your neighbors and the parents of your children's friends.

What would you do if your best friend's mother, did something to change your family's life forever? Do you think you would be able to remain friends with that person? When we are children, it's difficult to see things from the point of view of our parents, it's not until we get older that we understand all of the things our parents tried to teach us and shield us from through our lives.

This book spans over 40 years. The beginning is very concise, but the ending jumps around that at times you're not sure where in the book you are.

Leland McClain is a basketball player who just got traded from Miami to St. Louis. When he first moves to St. Louis he decides to volunteer at a youth center with his teammates and help some of the kids during the basketball camp. He is shocked to see who the director is. He knows her from his time in Miami. Kim Hampton's son plays for Miami. She herself has just moved to St. Louis to run the youth center that her son recently invested in. She has a holiday for every day to help and bring joy into her life. She isn't looking for love when Leland come into her life, but he is different than every other man in her life, so how could she not fall for him. Leland isn't looking for love either and Kim isn't typically the woman he would go for, but there is just something about her that he can't resist. Can they both get through this season without falling in love?

This is the second book in the McClain Brothers series. A family of good looking men who are all accomplished in their own right. Leland's preference is older women. While Kim is older than he is, she is still a lot younger than women he typically is interested in. In reality they should stay as far away from each other as possible. Leland has already had some beef with Kim's son in reference to him looking at her while they played together in Miami. And Armond, Kim's son is very particular when it comes to his mother. It's almost as if he is her man.

Kim has not had a very good track record when it comes to the men in her life. Leland has never wanted to settle down with any of the women he has dated nor has he ever wanted children. But there is something about Kim that makes him want to change all of that.

I can't wait to continue this series and see what other books Ms. House has.

What would you do if you found out your husband had an affair? Would you try to end the marriage, or work it out? What if sex was not a part of the affair, would that make a difference? These are the questions that Josie has after she finds out that her husband, Frank, has been having an affair for the past seven weeks. Should she stay or go? He's so great with the kids, but what about her? This book takes you on Josie's journey from her discovery of the affair, to her final decision on whether to stay with her husband or get a divorce.

I'm not sure what I would do if infidelity was a question in my marriage. I think, we can all say what we would do, but until we are faced with that situation, I don't think we fully understand how we would feel. Love is a tricky thing and when you find it with someone, it can be devastating when they break that love apart.

When Josie finds out about Frank's affair, her world is turned upside down. She has to find out the answer to all of her questions. She doesn't know if she will ever be able to trust Frank again or how she is going to live without him, as well. This is the man who is the father of her children and the man she has shared a bed with for so many years. But how could he betray her like this? They both decide to go to counseling. But Josie has conditions that Frank must agree to before she will even entertain the fact of sharing just her time with him. Will he agree or will they just end up going their separate ways.

This book is good for any married woman to read and may help you if this is a situation that you may be going through in your life.
